Richard Berenson LLB

Chairman and Managing Director

Richard is a Law graduate who qualified as a Solicitor in 1982. Following a period with a City firm, in 1985 Richard founded his own practice in Kensington, which he later merged with a West End practice so that he could devote his full time and attention to the network.

In 1990, as a result of his dealings with clients who were major mortgage lenders, he identified the need for quality controls and a commonality of service levels in the conveyancing process and accordingly created The National Solicitors’ Network, in return for making commitments to quality, service levels and pricing would be marketed as a national conveyancing panel. The National Solicitors’ Network has developed significantly since that time and now offers a range of services to solicitors.

Richard liaises closely with other organisations that shape the provision of legal services; working variously for example with The Law Society, the Legal Services Commission and the Council of Mortgage Lenders.

In 2002, Richard was part of the group which acquired LawGroup UK; a coming together which has utilised and meshed the strengths of both operations to create a new organisation which is in a stronger position than ever to assist solicitors to adapt and develop their practices.

Richard has a great deal of experience of the solicitors’ profession, both as a lawyer and as a service provider and is a regular speaker on a variety of topics, focusing on developments within the legal marketplace and new opportunities for law firms.
