John Cross

Quality Systems Consultant

John is responsible for assisting and advising member firms on achieving and maintaining their quality kite-mark registration. He is a fully accredited consultant and assessor for both Lexcel and Investors in People and has developed an extensive resource of materials and precedents that are available to members.

John has worked in the field of Business Development over the last 20 plus years in both Industry and Professional Service Organisations.

In Industry, his General Management responsibilities have included full operational control of production units both in the UK and worldwide. His roles have included the establishment of strategic operating plans and their implementation to achieve operational capabilities; starting from a green field site through to fully operational units. A fundamental aspect of these roles has involved the creation of the correct philosophy of team working and Human Resources Provisions to achieve the defined Business Objectives and Operational Capabilities.

John came to the company from Chinel Consulting ten years ago. As the key quality systems consultant for the network, John has assisted over one hundred firms, ranging from sole practitioners to multiple-partner firms with multiple offices, in developing their strategic planning and operations. This work has involved the provision of support in the areas of Strategic Development, Business Planning, Quality Systems, Practice Management Standards, and Investors in People programmes up to and including registration/certification as appropriate. Published references have included the Quality section of Longman’s publication “Professional Management”.

John is a listed consultant with The Law Society, the National Selectassure scheme, other TEC's outside the National scheme and also the ARU National Register. He is an accredited IIP Assessor, Lexcel Assessor and a Certified Advisor on European Foundation of Quality model (EFQM).
